"Art is something from which an audience gains an experience."
~Michael Goins

Yeah but... Who is Michael Goins?

Michael Goins is, if nothing else, a creative type. With a varied background, his passions range from electronics maintenance, writing music, language, crafts, writing, coding, graphic design, cinematography, typography and several others. But his true calling lies within the visual arts.

From an early age, communication was an issue for him. The wise words of Michael’s grandmother, “Draw what you’re trying to say”, set him down the path of creativity and expression at break-neck speed; a direction from which his focus has never faltered.

As a part of the first freshman class of the new millennia, Michael graduated high school in 2004. Freelancing as a graphic designer, Michael was able to garnish a devout following for his character, HodgePodge. Later, he went to college for interactive media and graduated with the Most Outstanding Portfolio award as well as Best Music Video at the first annual Manifesto Film Festival in Charlotte, NC. He then joined the creative work force and was shortly thereafter released to the job-market crash of 2008.

In 2012, Michael enlisted in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician. During boot camp, he painted his RDC’s insignia in their office as well as designed the division flag. At Naval Air Station Pensacola, he, along with 2 other sailors, painted a 10’ x 10’ mural in the ‘mega building’. At N.S. Mayport, he designed the mission patches, challenge coin and logo for Detachment 4 – The Iron Horsemen. In nearly every organization Michael has been a part of, he has gained recognition and respect for his creative and artistic abilities.

His list of achievements continues. However, Michael’s personal portfolio is thick. And now, he has reached a point in his life in which he desires nothing more than to share his journey with you, the audience.
